No, the psionic skill 'telepathy' that mindbenders have. The one that allowed you to hear the thoughts of others. She wasn't made a mindbender, but one of the STs of the time gave the skill to the pc as part of being in such close/extended proximity to the 'true giants' in the questline.

This is interesting because it shows staff can add cool shit to your sheet for the dumbest reasons. That's an extremely powerful add to anyone's sheet. I would even argue that being in close proximity to a powerful psionic race would make you weaker against psionics.

it's also kind of false. Zharal had thought sense and empathy from long before that silt sea expedition. hers came from a plot over six months before then. when the silt sea expedition happened, over a half dozen characters who were involved wound up with thought sense or empathy, and others were getting them for other reasons around the same time. every single gmh had at least one empath/telepath at that point, and so did a small number of nobles' aides.
on the main topic, the giants are or were psionically powerful. 100% fact. they and the silt sea itself have or had something major to do with psionics.
it was the end of the world plot-time. the shit on any given "powerful" character's sheet was absolutely ridiculous.

I'm just going off the account note that was left that said it had to do with the plot. The plot itself was before my time. When I started playing, she was already a Chosen Consort. My first PC worked for her.

I mean, fuck, gypsies are like travelling templars, they should get nothing but respect and admiration from everyone they cross. What, unjustified importance? You heretic, what do you think they are, dirty tribal savages, or something? I'm revoking all of your karma, because all I play is gypsies.

The original gypsies were pretty good. It was the second generation (like when they expanded from the original 5 or whatever it was) when things started to get kind of fucked up. Any of the original gypsies on here at all? Their wagon had a hidden hatch in the bottom where they stored all their steel.

Wildflower (on ISCABBS) was phenomenal (I forget his gypsy's name). He researched them, read books, everything there was to about gypsies. If you can only read one book on gypsies, read "The Gypsies" by Jan Yoors (recommended to me by Wildflower). That will help you get the mindset you need. Are there gypsies in the game now? not that I have the karma, nor will they likely give me karma, but I'd be interested in starting up the legitimate gypsies some day

I heard the gypsies have a silt submarine that automatically sifts and processes spice as it travels. They dine on silt sea cucumbers and raw silt horror steaks. They smoke as much spice as they want and lament about horta wine and spiced brandy. It's a pirate life but they don't care, they just want to numb the pain.
Cue Nemo al Gologoni (or however they spell their names), captain of the Harmony's Undertow.
