Pretty sure the legendary horrorshow Callisto is gone from the mudding community, so we'll leave her be for now, but Amanda, if you want to come back to playing Esos, you're more than welcome to do it. We'd love to have you back. So, there you have it grumble, I've now appealed to all these other people we've banned. You still get to be on the outside looking in, because you're not only a dick but a drain on any desire to work with you.

Amanda, if you want to come back to playing Esos, you're more than welcome to do it. We'd love to have you back. It sounds like a really appealing idea, though after seeing how things have shaken out before and how interactive you and Alaire are here, as well, I think it'd be better if I tried to collaborate to see if there was a role that was might be a better fit than Miyu. She was frustrating for me and you guys both. I was angry and caught up in the frustration at the time of playing her, and it caused me to lose sight a bit of how frustrating it might've been to deal with someone who was (in many ways, and after a point due to IC stuff, but also because of how early human docs were when she was created vs what they were when she wrapped as to what was what) totally unfocused as she wound up being. I know that the game can be an absolute blast, so there's no doubt I would like to return, but it's the role picking that is always excruciating. All that taking unlimited possibilities and scrunching them into a single package. I did register for a new forum account just now, with my new (zany) email, so I can be sure to be up on the documentation for next time around.

We had just opened as a spin-off from Fourlands, into Southlands at the time and she had been a regular there for a couple years with a LOOOONG backstory of crazy to the group there. She showed up on Southlands, made like 9 pcs and metagamed in a way that was well before her time and we just ended up banning her and asking her to not come back. To her credit she never said another word.

I'd like to make sure you're heading in a direction with your next pc that excites you! And I think this just might.

And one we would love to have back (and honestly, given the chance, I would do it differently with her because I don't think that either of us realized that a discussion would probably have solved it... a mistake I don't intend to make in the future >See that? That's me admitting that we screwed up... novel idea, right?), another we would definitely give another shot as it's been so long, and the third is you. Also, I don't feel the need to 'appeal' to people. I'm okay with a small playerbase. The only reason I want more players is so that people don't have to search for someone to roleplay with... but I've always said that it's about quality and not quantity for us.

The only reason I want more players is so that people don't have to search for someone to roleplay with... but I've always said that it's about quality and not quantity for us. That's something I've always loved about EOE. The playerbase is much smaller than Arm, but it's got the best pacing as far as interaction and scenes vs in game time, and some of the best rp, of any game. I think it's because Arm lands just a little too close to H&S games, and there are other games that go a lot closer to mushes, but EOE is sort of smack dab in the middle in what is (for me) the rp "sweet spot". Time moving at 4 IC days to a RL day means short conversations don't last for IC days, and yet when you go out into the world you can still die so quickly and easily. It's definitely more enjoyable (from an RP perspective) when there are more people around. But at the same time, a lot of the people who come over from arm treat it like it should be treated the same, and with the differences in IC economy and other stuff to that effect, it totally throws stuff out of whack. I can only say it with a measure of confidence that it's arm players, because the same thing happened with the influx of arm players to black sands, which was actually pretty great before all the shops were flooded by 1-2 people and it messed everyone else's prospects for survival up a bit. I don't think it's anything bad against arm players so much as it is people tending to do what they're used to, and it not being a successful way to try and go about what they're doing because outside circumstance changed. I'll also try and be more quick to start dialogue in the future, that's a great example on my own part of really poor habits brought over from arm with the assumption that doing things as I had was the way which would result in the most successful/beneficial outcome.
