Anaiah: You're an incredible roleplayer. Honestly, I've been floored by you many times, even shocked as to where you went with your pc. Nothing you did IG got you banned. Basically, I just ask people to respect the work, and after awhile, we felt like you simply couldn't do that, and really, a MUD should be collaborative in our opinion, but I can't really say that we had much communication aside from objects that you submitted for crafting (which I really appreciate, by the way! Thank you so much for the things you submitted for Sundown!). You really just came here and said we sucked. And I'm fine with people saying we suck, actually. It teaches us so much. But honestly, who wants to work for someone who thinks you suck all around and yells about it from the highest mountain top? I don't think anyone does, and the headache that caused is why you were banned. I would absolutely -love- to have you back. Strong female players make me super happy.  I would encourage people to TALK to us. We want people to have -fun-. That's what we get our rocks off on. If people are totally into their characters, that's what makes us happy. So if you can't do that for any reason, we just want to reiterate, let's talk! I'll tell you anything that I can without revealing IC information too quickly. I just want to say this.... Anaiah, you are a great roleplayer. Any MUD would be lucky to have you. So I hope that you go into your next MUD, or any MUD, with that knowledge, and that you don't feel like you've really done anything wrong IC'ly, and you don't need to feel anything that looks like insecurity. I think you're kind of masterful in your character development... and you're willing to really put yourself out there, which is kind of rare! So in your MUDding endeavors, I hope that you find that thing that truly makes you happy and excited to log in, and if it's not us, it's our loss, not yours. For what it's worth, if you go back and check who STARTED this thread (as a positive thing), it was me. I didn't come here to complain. I only posted what I did to reflect my frustration and the change of opinion after a while. I didn't do it to complain. I did it to update my review/opinion/endorsement from the first post in the thread as experience happened. I don't think we had much interaction either, and honestly, if I were welcome, I would probably continue to periodically come back. I do like that a lot of things not possible in arm are possible on EOE, but walking in on my husband and seeing him responding to Jazet's message that was so trivializing/dismissive of what the focus of my pcs goals evolved to be (and my own motivation as a player), being encouraged in messages to me to work on expanding the herbalism thing, while seeing comments about how irrelevant and what a waste of time it was, made me unbelievably mad. If it was said, could it not have been said to me rather than my husband (thus taking something from player/staff to staff being dismissive of and talking negatively about someone to their spouse - echoing the nyr email sans threats - but to kevin, with such). I don't know if you know it or not, but for over a month before that happened, I was continuing the role I was playing because it seemed like you guys were encouraging/wanted/or needed that. I couldn't find enjoyment, and kept trying to come up with new ways to make it enjoyable, thought I stumbled onto something, and... nope. Not so much. Not only that, but I wasn't even made privy to the honest thought/opinion on it, my husband was. It ruined the trust I had with Jazet. And then clans were changed up so that he was running Sundown, right after that. If I'd have been able to log in and also get away from the area with the travel bugs, she would've died, and I would've moved on to another character, but such wasn't seemingly slated to happen. I can't recall ever having had a problem with you personally, and do wish you well. I can't believe the amount of time and effort I know must go into making all the stuff that goes into the game on behalf of the players that I know you do, and I have no end of respect for that. You probably wouldn't even believe how flattering your assessment of my roleplay is, because I know the caliber of such that can be found on EOE on a good day, and it's pretty damn high. So thank you for that. So very, very much. |

I want to say, does anyone think that Jazet/Alaire have done a poor job of addressing some of the concerns? I am honestly curious what the board thinks about the 2 -owners- of the game coming here and speaking with a fair amount of respect to the posters.

O.O how is it shitstirring? I'm honestly curious because no one has really commented on the fact the two of them popped up and started responding to this thread. There was a lot of posts here. I personally think they did a good job, it's more than a lot of other admins have done here.

I like Alaire and Jazet both, on the whole, as people. Jazet and I have butted heads from time to time.
My opinion of the mud itself is posted in various places on the boards, and at the time of each post, each one was how I accurately felt at the time. Since I'm banned, I have no current thoughts.

There comes a time when you're no longer making a point about your concerns and you cross a line. And you crossed the line. As someone with a family and kids, yeah, I take this kind of talk seriously. Off your meds, drunk, whatever doesn't excuse being stupid, rude and threatening. I'm PRETTY certain if you popped off death threats to any mud Admin out there you'd get banned. If not, well, they must be more used to that kind of shit than I am. |

Believe me, it isn't easy to have people come in and shit on something that has been in our lives for longer than our kids have been around. Much can be taken with a grain of salt, and some of it is constructive criticism, but it's the internet, there will always be trolling and grief. "EOE SUX" is just lazy and doesn't help us make changes, see concerns or try to correct problems. All it does is muddy the already dark waters. We're glad to take questions and suggestions, always have been, and using this as an avenue to do so only gives us more feedback. |
