Here are the kill logs from Gowan. I put them in order. Back story: Gowan found out from his Archives boss a proposal was being drafted to be introduced to the Senate. The proposal outlined a deal in which Borsail would smash through the 'rinth wall, destroying the Mantis in the process. Kurac owns the Mantis and uses it as its base of operations to control the spice market there. Thus, Gowan had a problem. He needed to take down anyone related to the proposal and cut the head off the snake. If he could take down Icumen, he could kill the proposal before it reached the senate floor: 1) His first victim was Rissa, who told him she'd been in talks with the Borsail and was fine with the Mantis being destroyed. This amounted to treason in Gowan's eyes. Thus, Rissa was murdered/butt fucked/chopped up. 2) His next victim was fantasywriter's Fale noble. He was killed as a means to get an audience with Icumen. If he gave the noble's ring to Icumen, then boom, he's have his shot at whacking him. 3) His final victim in the saga was Icumen himself. Working with his 'rinth psionicist contact, he took down Icumen, then his animated guard. Gowan was then slain not long after by nessalin animating his boss in the Archives office, for treason or some such.

Lulz? I'm sorry. But reading Gowan's kill of Rissa, I find his reason to be the dumbest ... reasons ... ever. I'm not a fan of Nyr, but his reason to Kill Rissa was soo totally pulled in by the ears, they are so weak. I'm speechless. I played with Gowan intermittently, and I really liked how he played. I was expecting more.
Feels to me like he just wanted to plain kill Rissa and decided to come up with an excuse to do it. Maybe even possibly, he decided to finish the role. I mean shit ... a breed's mental breakdown makes more sense then Gowan's train of thought.

I'd pay money to see Nyr's reaction to that kill.

Seeing as how Rissa was okay with Borsail destroying the property of Kurac, Gowan considered her actions treasonous. She was not even lifesworn yet was making decisions on Kurac's behalf.
In addition, Gowan was ordered by Calus (the obsidian eyed man animated by Rahmi) to eliminate any possible threat that would hamper business at the Mantis.
Sorry if that doesn't clear things up.

Well that's the thing. Rissa wasnt lifesworn. She was a junior Agent. That would equate to what military rank? Corporal?
If a Noble of Borsail and AoD Corporal talk in a tavern and the noble goes, "By the way, we mean to make a hole through the wall leading into the Templarate's quarter to extend our Wyvern Barracks across the Dragon's Path road. Should the Corporal go, "No. You cannot do that!" The reply would be, "Are you telling what a Noble can and cannot do, Corporal?"
No, the Corporal would nod, tell the noble that he'll relay his intentions and wishes to the Templarate. Whom then later will probably break the nobles neck, but it's not for the Corporal to start telling the Noble off.
Gowan killed a Junior Agent, who wasnt even stationed in Allanak and was a northerner. Rissa at the time had literally 'no' say in any of these matters whatsoever. Probably never been to the rinth, doesnt know a tenth of what Gowan knew about the Mantis. All she could do is relay information to her superiors.
And Gowan killed her because she what? Did not call Icumen an idiot for even daring to 'think' of destroying Mantis, to his own face?
Hell, half of the interclan conflict is two projects fighting each other. Each member behind each project working his side, using his influence, and power, skills, and standing. It seems this way, the 'only' possible ever solution that Gowan could've thought of was, "kill everyone." Except he wasnt the kind of guy, I dont believe. I've played with him in Kurac. The course of action he took, is not logical, suicidal, and did not achieve a "freaking thing". The other nobles half a year after Icumen's death are "still" talking about moving into the rinth. My impression? With information that I'm so far given? It felt like Gowan wanted to end his role and decided to do it with a bang.
Dont misunderstand. I'm not a fan of Nyr. And I find the fact that Rissa survived so long in Tuluk, while being an active psionicist quiet ridiculous. And when I read you mention Gowan killing Rissa and loose explanation of why. I was like ... hey cool, way to go Gowan. But reading the log? That was ... an extremely out of nowhere reaction. Reading the log, my impression was that Gowan was planning to kill Rissa, before he walked into the door to talk to her and for more reasons then this particular one.

I think it's pretty tacky for a staff member to be playing a psion role like that but that's just me. PKing in Arm regularly happens for a lot weaker reasons ("I wanted his stuff") without consequence to the point that I'm not even aware of what the standard is anymore besides whatever contrived reasons anyone can come up with. I also 100% wholeheartedly support any attempts to bullycide nyr.

I don't mean to argue with you, so I'll just end with this: you don't know everything that went on. Rissa gave the move her blessing.
Gowan was ordered by Calus (Rahmi) to protect the Mantis at all costs, even from Kurac (read: Rissa) if it came to that. I don't know how much clearer it can get than that. It was only after the fact that nessalin jumped in Calus and did a complete 180 with his thought process.
Did Gowan go to the wagon with the intent to kill Rissa? Of course he fucking did, IF she had told him that she was going through with the plan. In the words of Gowan, she "could have said 'no'". Regardless of how you look at the situation -- "but you can't talk to a noble like that!" -- well..that's just now how Gowan looked at it. What he did was completely IC.
Whether or not people are "still talking about" doing something to the Mantis is irrelevant. Icumen was scheduled to bring the matter to the Senate floor and vote on it. The proposal died along with Icumen.

Fuck staff avatsrs. I hail FJ for slaying Nyrs fucking PC. Staff avatars have been a blight upon Arm since it's existence. I see nothings changed with Nyr being in charge now. Either way I give no fucks anymore. If I knew oocly that a staff was playing a sorc I would make it my mission to kill them just for the fun of it to be honest. I know that's bad but I don't care, they don't deserve to staff and play in my opinion, especially if they're assholes about it.

I didn't read too much about the RP surrounding this or what not but from what i saw, this Rissa asked a very specific question."Do you think you are more powerful then me?"
That question was then answered in an epic way. End of story.
I want your mate, your job, your ass, your boots. These are all reasons why people kill in RL. The character's reasons were as good as any if you ask me. However, a psionicist in Tuluk? Was this in the last five years with Qoriya around too? Sorry, i am not sure anyone but a staff member could get away with that. Glad they are gone, nyr or otherwise.

Aye good riddance. The more staff avatars that are karma 6 and up that are killed the better off the mud will be.

The odds are high that there is more (a lot more) to it then just what the log was showing. I truly hope Gowan was better then that, personally.

So glad Rissa died. I kept waiting and waiting and waiting, and baiting her, and trying to get her to die. It's unbelievably unrealistic to have a psionicist in Tuluk for YEARS that is NOT discovered by the massive psionic web of the Lirathans.

No gripes with Gowan's RP. But he shouldn't have been surprised when his actions were deemed renegade.
