Discuss. Sarges, events. Things from the former glory of the byn.

I think the Byn is the same two part balancing act is almost always has been. On one hand participants want adventure, or mercenary work, or skilling up, or really tight paired rp. On the other, more contracts is almost always better.
I've had mixed feelings about some of the experiments which have gone on in the Byn in the past. I loved Koman Locke as a player and hated playing with him because my pcs didnt match his unit. I tend to like when the Byn is huge, like when Raul was LT, with four halfgiants and three sergeants.
I get the feeling a couple veteran players have their noses in a snit over something, but same as it always was in the Byn.

Among recent Sergeants, Cilla stood out a year ago. Still don't understand why the staff killed her off so blatantly with gith arrows, unless she had requested to go out in style. It was sad how the Byn basically fell apart, with character after character leaving, after she died. Some of them stated it openly, they had only stayed on for her.
More generally, it would be so easy as a staff member to keep the Byn hopping and happy. It's a bro clan, they're not difficult to please. Whipping together a set of rooms connected to a collapsed area in the sands for them to explore, for example, with some petty treasure at the end if they exercise their wits at all and a templar to hire them to do it. It'd be possible to give them some new event or adventure every RL week without breaking a sweat as a Storyteller, except for the solid wall of "no" from above. Alas.
