So many weapons threads, but this might simplify it to its base. List your favorite weapon for each class. Or, if its already listed, a favored one. Maybe its good for training, maybe its an ideal weapon, maybe its got a specialized use you don't think other people know. If you've got ideas, list them here!

If I can use it, I'm taking axe. The reasoning here is that only 2 guilds get axe skills, and without that skill you have a much lower chance to parry against axe attacks. Compared to piercing with 4, slashing with 4, and bludgeoning with 5. Also I feel like every weapon gets a minor bonus, and I think axes is either more damage, or higher critical chance. Also I've always liked axes as weapons thematically and it's nice being able to RP hooking with the axe head to disarm, parrying with the haft, as opposed to swords which are pretty much all blade and the part the hand goes.

elves or high agi low strength : spears, knives & dual wield. they crit more to neck & head because of weapon type and agility, if offense is good enough. when elves dual wield any other weapon, they start sucking, but their piercing performance and parry against their daggers are significantly lower (and it's not related to the opponent's piercing, it is agility and the piercing itself). shields defend same against them though
humans or mid agi, mid strength : swords, a balance of parry and damage
dwarved, muls or high strength : axes and clubs. axes for the reason stated above, other guilds not having it. especially assassins (cause no pickpocket will try to kill you anyways) dual wielded in normal scenarios, etwoed against harder situations.

Very good summary, although on an elf warrior with exceptional strength, I found swords to my liking, I probably could have been getting more out of daggers/spears. Still, branching swords into knives would be devestating.

I'm guessing on a c-elf merchant protector, knife-type weapons would be ideal, to cover up for a lack of weapon skills, added the fact you could get them poisoned for mitigating more disasterous fights.

Elves and knives even without the skill can be a little scary. If the elf is properly defense twinked that is.

Depending on high strength, I usually go with axe or mace. However, if I have high agi as well, then depending on my class I'll use everything.

So, going down my list, this is what i judge to be the strongest of weapons - not counting branched weaponskills.
Bludgeoning - since it does stun damage along with strong hp damage. You can reel on ridiculous hits, like wrist.
taking rank 2, tieing for it, piercing/chopping. They both have a critbonuses, piercing bonus to crit chance and chopping bonus to crit damage.
Taking third is slashing.. It's just the most basic. Yes, you get better parry bonuses with swords, but half the time it doesnt matter.

I always liked whips and staby weapons for assassins. Ranged weapons for rangers. For warriors I dug razors before they were kanked. Sometimes it varies based on the PC's bg.

Axes have some of the best stats in the game, as well as those who are commonly available. Blunt has a few weapons that are incredible as well. There is no great sword or spear. They're all sorta meh. I swear, like 90% of all slashing weapons in game have identical copy-pasted stats. I've used everything from a jewel-encrusted scimitar to a cilop's jaw, and it's all pretty much the same damage. I've only seen HUGE changes with axes and maces.
