There were crazy rumors about the guy on the board a year ago. Now that the dust has settled, what was his story
editted to pay proper respects to his rank

Since Hawk is like the most common Mul name and tribal and everything else. Lets clarify that we're talking about Captain Hawk the silt skimmer master!

Here is some blatant speculation:
Hawk never died.
There were rumors he had Nilazi powers, right? So maybe a Nilazi kept killing a mul NPC, possessing the corpse, and sending it out. Thus his reappearances after his supposed deaths.
Maybe the face of "Captain Hawk" is a mul standing in an Red Storm alley right now.

Always assumed that was the case.

Captain hawk was a sorcerer with the possess corpse spell (maybe a ranger with a sorcerer subguild? IDK because he seemed like a ranger too.) Once he took me to his secret hideout cave deep in the silt sea. He had a stash of empowered silt horror armor there (among other things) that he said he was going to use to equip a small army of his crew (once he could build them up enough, if they'd stop dying) and raid Allanak and destroy what was left of Borsail. His hideout it still there, it's on one of the islands and has a secret entrance we drove the skimmer into. It was all kinds of awesome.

Sorcerers get special subguilds that mimic the mundane guilds. He probably had the ranger one. It's most of the skills from the parent guild but capped at subguild levels.

Sounds like a staff pet or avatar. I always roll my eyes when that Plainsman-esque crap shows up in game.

I don't think it's my place to really say what's going on with this PC and out of respect to those involved that may want to keep his hijinks a secret to the masses, I won't. But it would be cool if Hawk's player posted.
Needless to say: Posts thus far are inaccurate.

Sounds like a staff pet or avatar. I always roll my eyes when that Plainsman-esque crap shows up in game. It's mainly because it's so rare that it feels wrong when somebody does it. If the game was in a good place, groups like that would be commonplace. You'd see lots of crews pop up every year and some of them would succesfully become significant in one way or another. However, when just about everyone who has tried this in recent years has found that it's impossible either because staff sabotages your efforts or because there just isn't a fucking thing going on in the world so you have absolutely nothing to work with, it just breeds resentment when one group does manage to do something. Because it's not that they're the only ones who are good enough to deserve it; it merely highlights what's wrong with the game when so few groups do manage to accomplish anything. This is doubly true when it's clearly the result of someone having special powers, like a mul sorcerer or whatever the hell he was. It was the same thing back when that guy Sharak was pumped full of insane powers -- a lot of players found it tasteless and couldn't be impressed by stories of someone who managed to be succesful with his mainguild warrior who was made a sorcerer on top, plus some added psionicism because why the fuck not. It's like hearing about how affluent Bill Gates' son is.

Hawk was basically a folk hero in Red Storm for two real life years. His character was multifaceted, and generally interesting. He ran a skimmer crew, where he would take people out and have adventures. He had all sorts of friends, including a nilazi he would chat with on the reg. Pretty sure where this is where most of the rumors of him being a sorcerer come from. I highly doubt that this was the case. I played with him a couple years ago. I dont know much about what he was upto recently what with his 'citizenship' in Tuluk, him possibly being possesed by a nilazi or even becoming one, or his death, I dont know. What I do know is that he was a very Sujaal-esq player who did a lot for the game and brought the world to life in ways that made it fun for everyone. Thats how you do it, folks.

It's like hearing about how affluent Bill Gates' son is. Exactly. I'll be the first one to tip my hat to someone that somehow apps a sorcerer, possess a mul corpse, finds a secret island base with empowered silt horror plate, and manages to figure out piloting a silt skimmer into a secret entrance without dying. But it reeks to me of someone with inside knowledge or assistance. If he's not a staffer, a former staffer, or dating a staffer, I'd be shocked. I could be wrong though. He could be a very long lived character, who explored and found all that stuff with a drovian or whiran prior alt, and then he got his chance at a sorc, and ran with it. But I just find it too hard to be impressed by a lot of this stuff. Maybe it's less Plainsman-esque, and more Quick/Sharak-esque. I'm more impressed by the dude starts with a karma 0 race/class and ends up having a big impact on the game world, rather than a sorc. I don't think it's my place to really say what's going on with this PC and out of respect to those involved that may want to keep his hijinks a secret to the masses, I won't. But it would be cool if Hawk's player posted. Needless to say: Posts thus far are inaccurate. If this Hawk dude wasn't staff, former staff, married/dating staff, or best skype buddy pals with staff from meeting and hanging out with them at the conventions or what the fuck ever...And he's just some regular player that got it all legitimately, I would literally cut my own cock off and fuck myself in the ass with it. Failing that, I would be deeply apologetic. I find it more likely that his hijinks would be kept secret, to hide how much favoritism really was involved. If I'm wrong, feel free to PM me the details.

He was a very long lived character, to be sure. He wasn't a fucking sorc, stop saying he was a sorc. He started as a mundane.

I'm pretty sure he was a standard mul ranger. And as for the rest... it's all lies too but he was sure fun to play with.

That guy dated a staffer too. lol. As for staff pet accusation...If you're being given special reaches, special stances (sujaal again), special items, or special powers, which aren't possible to get in the general course of coded playing. Then you at least tentatively qualify as a pet until compelling evidence is presented otherwise. I'd welcome someone coming in, dropping the mic on us doubters and proving us wrong. It'd give me hope for Arm. But after like 12 years of the same shit, I just can't be impressed very easily.
