Forage is basically bullshit in the sense that the classes which benefit the most from the rare stuff you can find, typically have the worst forage. Or else, they had to waste a scavenger subclass on it.
Playing a ranger basically meant being someone's forage bitch, somewhere, if you were at all connected to the greater goins on.
Ruk can forage all day, but it's not like they can do a quarter of what say, a krathi or anyone else can manage with it.

Just to revive an old topic; with foraging I'm looking to get reliable amounts of sling ammo to get my archery up - is it just a case of foraging everywhere for stones or are there specific locations?
In addition where can I find gems (ruby, Sapphire, diamond etc.)?

Salvage small rough stones, which also works as ammo, but crafting works fletchery. Works with sandstone, granite, jasper and some others. Ruby, Sapphire and diamond can be found in the same places as other gems. places with rock in the name usually.

Rubies and diamonds are best in caves. Sapphires are easy, gulches and such. Trench up by the Span was good for them.

Rubies and diamond come from basalt deposits, they're only best in caves because of the difference in rest recovery. You can find them at the same rate roughly at most basalt deposits, but you can rest quicker (and thus mine quicker) if you're in the shade and out of the wind. Which makes sense to me.

I found some really fucking great sources of basalt and jasper but can't post it here. It's very IG information... I have no idea how a PC would know it. Like I can't even send grebbers there.

It seems like emeralds are the rarest stone now because--unless I'm a retard--they don't pop out of any deposits.
