Well, you know, I'm not the one who said something about her having a tower, that was Jazet, sorry, Lurklord.

Well, you know, I'm not the one who said something about her having a tower, that was Jazet, sorry, Lurklord. Ain't even Jazet. This one of the many assumptions you've been wrong about. I'm mostly here because alot of the crap that's being posted is scaring off potential players from an otherwise awesome game. It's always the same four sentiments: *I don't like that a powerful character is powerful/I don't like that a rich character is rich. *I'm unwilling to have my comparatively powerless character eat humble pie or suck up to further my character's IC goals. *I'm unwilling to make a character with the power to actually challenge the status quo. *I don't like that another character is being unkind to mine. Seriously. People like you are why I can understand why Armageddon has a glass ceiling in place. If Barons are Esos' black robes, I could only imagine how quickly people would cry unfair, favoritism, broken, if they were given magic on-top of wealth and easy access to materials. If you're reading this thread and considering trying the game, don't take what's posted here as being absolute, this is a forum designed for malcontents to be able to publicly air grievances. The people that are actually having fun are playing the game.

That would be a lot more valid if I hadn't been rejected for applying for one of those roles, and also if it wasn't always the same single pc that people have issue with. I don't think I've seen anyone complain about someone being unkind.

I don't think I've seen anyone complain about someone being unkind. hell I went to nadu and bowed my head when I FIRST met her and she said she wouldn't even SPEAK with me. It was the most insulting thing I ever heard. I also wrote over 20 letters and tried to have them delivered to players, never did I ever receive anything back.

And all of that is referencing the same singular person, and not at all a complaint about unkindness.
Keep on arguing it though. It certainly seems to make people change their mind... no. Because of plenty of evidence and experience to attest to what they're saying.

Ive seen two very, very specific complaints as to why the game is unplayable from the malcontents WHO USED TO RECOMMEND AND DEFEND EOE ON THIS BOARD OF MALCONTENTS: - Nadu is disproportionately powerful to the point they can shut down anythng significant, even things that should be the purview of other Enclaves (everyone complaining)
- The playerbase is inexperienced (which was del)
what's that phrase that keeps showing up on our board? "If everybodys complaining about one person and are citing one person as the reason they leave forever, theres a problem with that one person." Seriously. People like you are why I can understand why Armageddon has a glass ceiling in place. If Barons are Esos' black robes, I could only imagine how quickly people would cry unfair, favoritism, broken, if they were given magic on-top of wealth and easy access to materials. if the black robe who ran the ministry of War could shut down the other three black robes, was given some psionic artifact that the minstry of the Mind had done a big rpt for, and every small time player had to grovel to the War black robe for everything (rather than a ministry that matches the theme of the request), then yes there would be cries of player favoritism directed at one player just like youre seeing here. If you're reading this thread and considering trying the game, don't take what's posted here as being absolute, this is a forum designed for malcontents to be able to publicly air grievances. The people that are actually having fun are playing the game. i'm going to give you a small amount of credit: most people forget their posts are mostly read by people who dont particpate. But it's a bit late for that realizaton. if someone is readng this thread theyve already watched you spend this thread burning away any credibility you mght have had. Are you aware that those "sentiments" you summed up everyones arguments with were things the malcontents youre bitching about used to argue against on this malcontent forum? Because in case you missd it EOE used to be popular hre. And summing up complaints specifically about one character (whos a staff avatar if i've hear right) as being complaints about the entire enclave everyone is a blatant straw man argumnt. Between those things and your earlier attempt to evade answering my question about just assassnating the problem, you currently come off as someone who will say anything to dismiss anything contrary to his opinion. So now anythng you say is suspect. Even if parts of it turn out to be true.

There's four active PC senior Barons (black robes). Two of these (Kaden, sundown) are designed to hate each other. The other two (nadu, avasar) are designed to want to help one another. It's never been a case of one black robe bringing everyone to their knees. It's been two Barons working together out of mutual respect, and a third hopping on the bandwagon because they dislike blackrobe #4. An active Kavka could change everything. Because they have more influence over Kaden and deal primarily with items that offer coded benefits, and that's what most players -really- care about.
Game has 10-15 players at peak. Needing to go straight to a Baron for things is a playability thing rather than a practical thing. Many enclaves don't have the benefit of minions. This is something that could be changed.
Intrestingly, I'm the only person that did answer the question. I don't see the malcontents posting about super secret shields or admin revivals. I also seem to be the only person you seem to care about having answered it.

I never said not to play Esos in fact I hope people do go try the mud. It has a lot of potential.
My main gripes were lack of documentation and I as a player getting just so frustrated with the clear power gap that existed. Maybe things have changed, maybe things haven't. I can only speak to when I played. And when I played I sent tons of letters to inactive council members that went completely ignored.
I don't honestly care if Nadu has all the power I was more frustrated because the documentation did not reflect this. I had to ask question upon question at the forums to get an answer once I found out that Nadu was filthy rich and the answer I got wasn't in any of the docs it came from Jazet answering me with a one-line sentence, "They had the wagons to hold all the gold from the old city."
Okay that was a nice answer but why wouldn't the warlords of the setting (kaden) just say fuck it and steal all the money from the cloth makers? To me it's very hard to believe a civilization on the fringe of survival wouldn't become completely martial and have a police state set in the new city with all military leaders in power.
Whatever though I'm not here to argue about that I was just very frustrated that all the power lie in the hands of jewelry makers and not the military guys.

There's this gem: It's actually lore supported for Kaden's to swing their dicks around and be belligerent. They've got the numbers. They've got the skills. They've just not got antagonistic PCs to start shit. Again, be the change.

History shows that certain Kaden PCs have a reputation for being irrelevant and quite inept at doing anything right.

Then be the one that's scary and is able to get things done. Be a warmonger. Be a badguy.
