What I'm arguing is that there's not any valid reason to suddenly be worried that every single person in game is going to be killing you with a rageboner made of magick. People had perfectly good rageboners without magick

That was fantastic to see the other side of Adelade's death. I couldn't believe my luck coming across a Jihaen with just ONE other person, just sitting in the road ripe for the plucking VERY far from any help. You scared the crap out of me by the way. Appeared out of nowhere in the room and took a couple swipes at me before I even realized what was going on. I was super lucky that we were in a climb room, or I woulda been wrecked. Doesn't look I had even branched wind armor yet, from the looks of it there. That was some ballsy shit on my part, without the wind armor. I was all paranoid you had gotten a look at me and had to go back and reread several times to see whether or not you really had. It seems you didn't. But yeah, I wasn't whatever dwarf you were talking about - though I think I had a run in with that same dwarf with my whiran. There was a Whiran dwarf that dropped a bahamet on my whiran once (summoned one from a room above I guess? All I know is that one suddenly fell into the room from above me), out in the grasses. I'd only ever see him every now and again in passing, up in the skies. Never did catch up with him. Nor do I know who this Carine was. I levitated Adel's corpse, picked it up and flew off into the mantis valley with it. Stripped it bare and tossed him in the muck there for the tembo to feast on. That was all probably done well before you had even reached Tuluk. My prized possession from the whole thing was that Jihaen mask he had (I think that's what I managed - you jerks took his robe and staff) which I kept in an invisible trunk in an extremely remote save room. I'd take it out every now and again just to remember that fine day.

High level warriors can block ranged attacks both with shield use and parry - I've done it personally with both skills. I do believe this extends to someone you're guarding, though I'm not entirely sure.
sneazy: Started playing with ArmSolo again. Mapping the zones against newer maps and chasm area mostly looks good. If anyone else is using it, I will make a thread and post results. Else, I'll keep doing my own thang.

mehtastic: Hi everyone. Back for a bit to catch up on how things have been and talk about Arm with a less angry and more mellow voice. Hope y'all have been doing well.

mehtastic: Haha. We actually agree more than we disagree, but I'm down to discuss the benefits and drawbacks of multiplaying in general.

thesandlady: Are the days of 250 unique logins a week long gone, or is there a chance Arm could get back to it's old numbers?

mehtastic: thesandlady I think those days are long gone at this point. People will say it's because MUDs in general are on the decline, but there are a few text based games that see slight growth. Arm's problems hold it back from player recruitment and retention.

delerak: arm can get the numbers back up. you need good leaders running clans for one which it seems arm is lacking right now.

mehtastic: Well, that's partly why I said Armageddon can't get back the 250+ weekly logins days that it used to have: because Armageddon lacks good leaders. I would argue that staff actively suppress leadership and don't give players ways to grow into such roles.
