All right I have seen a Tailoring guide which was pretty interesting.
I know I have very little to contribute being a noob mostly. Most of the classes I played people have contributed far more than I woukd ever manage.
So I am now wondering just -how- exactly Jewelry works with the lack of Stone Crafting and only having Forage (rock)
I read about Jade being able to crafted into hairpieces but that's about it. Anyone know what combinations are good for Jeweler. I got the Tailor down pat and it does make for good money. I am just wondering how to make money now with Jewelry as I already know how to make money with all the other crafts.
Notice Armor crafting does not take as long as I expected it to branch. Maybe it was ny wisdom. More on that in anither post.

jade is good a small piece of bone with: amber, flint, jade, garnet, temboeye, and all sorts of things works pretty well when you are journeyman/advanced flint ivory feathers for featherworking can also make jewelry like rings/earrings/etc sharp shards and large shards of obsidian both can be made into things small and large chunks as well, if I recall right.
You can actually do really well as a sub jeweler.
My whiran was making shitwads of sid she was donating to Oash to help construction, and she was sub jeweler.
Also, selling wooden jewelry in the south is more lucrative than obsidian jewelry in the north, but both are profitable.
There's a specific turquoise bracelet that pulls in about 1k sid in the kadian jewelry shop in the south, but I don't know the recipe for it, I just recall seeing someone else selling them.

I only know of one type of jade that is not already crafted, just a piece of jade, forget the sdesc, but it's something like 'a rough bit of jade' if I recall right. You can find it in most caves that aren't immediately close to Allanak. Those only have basalt and obsidian forageables for some reason.

Yeah, shards of obsidian will get you started for cheap in the south. In the north, amber is something you can find a good bit of to work, in the outer circle, or used to be able to. And 'a piece of bone' (which you put with damn near any stone later to make something) will also work. I guess I should have specified? I don't actually know any fancy or multi ingredient crafting outside a handful of recipes.

So anyone has any recipes to share that can get a jeweler started? Start with rocks, and pieces of bone. Using "Craft <item>" will give you a huge number of one item recipes as your character's skill grows. Then, start trying 2 item tests. Most of them wont be visible to some point between high apprentice and low advanced, so might as well build up to them. The number of known 3, 4 or 5 component recipes isnt large. 5 white feathers, or 5 black feathers will make something. Other than that, make friends with someone who can teach you. Remember that some recipes are locked by region, race, or clan. If you want to make a ton of jewelry, join Kadius in the north. Almost any crafter type can benefit from joining a clan to get taught how that craft works.

Regardless of what kind of crafter you want to play, you will need to map out what shops are in the city you want to play in, what they carry/buy, and which materials you will have to forage or get from another player. The topic is too large for an easy knowledge dump.

The topic is too large for an easy knowledge dump. Yup, not only that but good luck trying to get combos for anything really. If you're in a clan, just ask people in your clan, but if you're solo, you're going to have to sit there and try combinations yourself or analyze every piece of jewelry you see. I personally don't have the patience to do that and every time I do, someone comes along and wants to do that pesky thing called "roleplay" so I don't like playing crafters. I don't get anything out of sitting somewhere private with barrier on, trying to "discover" a necklace that I can sell for 100 'sid then hunt the known for a merchant I can sell the particular piece for the most money. That's just not fun to me, but I've seen people do it.
