BitterFlashback: I didn't touch upon nilaz because I have played 1 nilazi to about 2 days played. That was beautifully written though. So perfect.

Pah is the heaven of desert elves. Majority of Desert Elves are rangers and can track. Unless you're flying or teleporting, you're leaving tracks. If you're leaving tracks, the elves WILL find you. When elves find you, you "wont" see them approaching as all desert elves have wilderness sneak and hide. Personally ... whenever I played SLK, I would consider it a jeer worthy offense that I seriously managed to miss a mage twinking up on my land. A lot of Rogue Gick's get killed because they overestimate their spells and underestimate mundanes. Rangers can see you while your invis. Spells you think that will stop arrows, don't. Basically keep away from any d-elves or any Ranger who looks like they might be after you.

That's true, and part of the reason I very much hate the GDB echo chamber of people shouting magick is too powerful. Fuck that. If you want to really be invis, get max hide and sneak and some plus hide and sneak gear. Then no one will spot you. But with max invis, you're spotted by most people with max scan.

Do you know if that stuff I recalled about the mana refresh rate is still in place? EDIT: Nilazi Marked Goods Oh I forgot to mention this. Nilazi: Store your marked items in a container INSIDE your portable hole before going into a city. If you wanna chance it and have a single one on hand for an emergency, sure. But don't have your whole collection in your inventory. Because marked items only get marked by ONE METHOD and it's a red flag to kill you. EDIT 2: I'm moving this into the guide itself.

Because marked items only get marked by ONE METHOD and it's a red flag to kill you. I thought Whirans were able to mark stuff? I don't see Mark in their spell list. And Marked items are only useful with Travel Gate. Regardless the one method I was referring to was magick. And unless Whirans got the Mark spell for some reason carrying something with a Mark means you're a Nilazi or a Sorc.

Incorrect, you're thinking of 'create rune', which is a rune and can only be deciphered with read magic/detect magic unless it's your own rune you made. BitterFlashback: Can't recall for sure without going back and looking, as to all the things you posted on it, but last time I checked, the post that @armqwertytwo made on it was accurate, though with vivaduans, it's if there's something growing there, and/or how cool it is.

It can literally pick up a volcano and move it across the world but god DAMN if you can genuinely turn invisible beyond what some jockstrap laying in the road with a face mask and some footpads can do. Fuck that. Makes no sense. >.<

"Gage Dick-shaw!" *hip thrust*
That's all I picture now, some random, muscular dood in footpads and a facewrap (and nothing else of course - not even a loincloth) laying in the road.
You can call him Lord Humongous if you wanna. Lady Rumplebottom did last night. What?!?!
I'm sorry, lack of sleep and so much hilariousness.

Hunter (subguild) makes for an incredible cover profession and has practical use.
In most cases, as long as you aren't wearing a heroic description, you can play off avoiding melee because you're frail and people will assume you have low HP (which you likely do). When you never pan out as a one shot, one kill bowman, people will assume it's because you have low agility (which you likely also do).
Climb can be faked with enough +climb gear and the vast majority of non-elf rangers never get anywhere close to maximum stealth skills, so sneak is enough to let you sneak up on auto-flee creatures if prompted to by hunting partners. Wear one piece of heavy armor, like a breastplate, so you can use it as an excuse for failing hide that most players will accept.
Offense and defense can be raised enough to make you passably confident in melee if you secretly fight incredibly low threat animals during dead time. With enough time invested and high enough wisdom (which you likely have), you can become a good enough hunter to actually feed yourself and turn a profit.
Regularly using scan and hunt will really sell you as an 'average ranger PC'.
Direction sense is not just amazing to have, but completes the image.
On a broader spectrum, make sure you have a social life, with friends and people you do business with. Not just because being a recluse is boring but avoiding the stereotype, you avoid a great deal of casual suspicion. Plus, friendly PCs who's players believe you to be guild: ranger will mount a much better defense of your good name than PCs played by players who know you're guild: abomination and faking the ranger bit.
Be sure to rotate who you spend your time with on a regular basis if it's tolerable for your PCs personality, since spending too much time with the same people will get you discovered sooner or later. When people are friendly, but not too friendly, you avoid much suspicion, a 'sweet spot' if you will.
An important point: Avoid high profile PCs.
There are always Drovians, psionicists and rogues of the sneaking variety hounding these PCs and you do not want that kind of attention. It will kill your character, quickly.

Man, I'd love to play a rogue drovian. Only magick role that interests me.
