I've considered playing a half-giant, but I was always a little leery of playing a dumbass. Other than warrior, what other classes are viable for a half-giant?
I've seen the half-giant Rukkian. Seems feasible as a half-giant is going to be pretty bad ass with all the Rukkian protective spells. I'm not sure about the other elements. Vivaduan would probably work as well. Drovian and Whirans seem a little to stealthy and secretive to pull off as a half-giant. I'm not sure about Krathi or Elkrosian. Would a half-giant even need their offsensive spells to mess something up?
I think Ranger might also work, but living out in the wild seems to be something I'm not sure it would be easy to pull off as a half-giant.
Assassin, I think the whole secretive part will also be hard to pull off as a half-giant. Same with pick pocket or burgler.
Just curious what everyone thought.

Ranger works in merchant clans. They tell you what not to eat and what to hunt.

You don't have to be a dumb ass, just think of your character as a really big ten year old kid with a learning disability.

Yeah giants just seem to be 'slow' minded. No stupid per say but easily led, prone to parroting others, culture sponges who adapt the behavior of those they are around. They can't grasp complex things like how to play mind games with people or behave in a cunning fashion though they might try to.
Giants are slow physically too. They've got toughness and strength, but they move sluggish as well as think sluggish. Essentially they are large tank creatures. You can have a passable merchant half-giant though. Honestly, you could be a merchant giant with half-decent combat capabilities due to your high strength and endurance I would think.

For the record.
They are slow and all that. But they are actually one of the fastest playable races out there. Height affects the speed of your movement, and HGs are TALL. Rangers works out great for HGs. They can outrun a lot, have a lot of endurance to walk places. It's a little hard to keep a mount with an HG as you have limited selection and they tire easy.
I dislike playing HGs though. They're easy to get codedly good. But generally speaking, they dont start plots. Not easily anyway. They go along others. So if you get caught in a rut and live amongst people who do not start plots themselves, you're in a pretty bad place. Though thankfully, it is easy for them to migrate to more interesting places.

The BIGGEST problem with HG's are the fact they're easily led by others... What this generally translates too is...
You are RPing for others. All. The. Time. Can get very tedious very quick.

They might be tall but they are not fast (other than perhaps walking speed) They have a low cap on AGI as I understand.

So this tells me Warrior, Ranger, Rukkian, and maybe Vivaduan(I would think Rukkian would be more in line with a half-giant). Merchant if you are really into self-punishment.

There was once an HG Rukkian appropriately named 'Rumble' or maybe it was 'Rubble' he just absolutely wrecked anything and everything. He would throw on stone-skin and just clean house.

Half-giant sorcerer? Except that you don't start as a half-giant, you possess a half-giant corpse permanently.

Anything but a pick-pocket/Merchant is pretty viable, out of the mundanes. Warriors and Rangers are most viable.
Out the elementalists Ruk/Viv/Drov are the easiest to branch with, I think.

I think HGs are one of the most fun roles to play specifically because they get manipulated. Generally speaking people dont want to kill a half-giant. They wanna enlist a half-giant. And as an HG you get to do/say a lot of shit that would get any other character killed/booted.
I can't think of any role easier to entertain yourself with. And other people (oocly at least) than HG.
Edit: And if you get tired of being manipulated by someone? Get bored ICly and leave. Or be manipulated to do something else. Remember youre basically a mentally-disabled child with battering rams for arms.
