Kurac has a lot of secrets... Mekeda and whoever else that was working with them way back when, really gave them special treatment. It was the straw that broke the camel's back and led to staff rotations.
One of their leaders back in the 2005 time period was like half-elemental, all kinds of crazy stuff.

Holy crap, Kurac. A skeleton key that emits darkness? The fuck? Yeah. They're definitely one weird puppy with a nicely stoned facade.

Hate to tell you this, but there have been many partial elementals in the game. It takes alot of dedication and work, but any elementalist can eventually start the path.
Once again, it may look like partiality, but everybody has the opportunity for such things. I've known of four clans (Including Kurac now, which I had not heard of having one before) which had people who had done this. It's in the darksun books, I'm not certain why it would be surprising to people that it is possible.

lol, Im aware of this - and yeah, everyone has the opportunity, for almost everything. The topic was about secrets. And I was just letting people know that if they wanted an in on some really hefty stuff, to look at Kurac as a possible employment opportunity. They have like a mini-Allanak's worth of intrigue/mystery/sorcery/etc and alot of it is alot more approachable then say... a commoner in Allanak eventually meeting Tek.

Since this is about secrets, this is where you would explain what a partial elemental is and how one would start down this path. I have never liked playing elementalists, but I'd be interested in how this works.

In the case of the Kuraci, they had a really long lived elementalist and rather than have him die of old age they made him half-elemental so he could live longer than codedly possible. It was carried out the same way as someone was saying before, through the whole talking to your elementals that you summon and learning things.

So in other words, you need to talk to a mon level elemental? Dam, I am so not into caster types to even have to hold on to a long lived one. Yuck.

I wouldnt follow the talk to mon elemental equation anymore. The times for that ended when end of the world plots ended. Just play your character, doing whatever and let weird stuff happen to you naturally.

The structure in the middle of the salt flats is where the now defunct conclave was set up. It was one of those clans that was alot of fun to be in, but really ruined things for others, as it was far too well set up to be hurt, while being absolutely safe for those inside. This meant people would become powerful and not leave. It was an isolationist group. That being said, it was a blast to be in.
I have no idea about the other ruins however.

What about that snake head up on the mountain? Anyone know what that thing is? Well, from a past plot the snake head was supposed to be...the demon whatshisface. YEARS ago the demon took a pc of Wayne's (some buff d.elf that was eventually killed by a rukkian) and gave him skullsplitter, the Blackwing steel sword of legends old. I forget that damned demon's name, but anyways, that was what the snake head was used for once before. The CAM (council of allanaki mages) also tried climbing into the mountains to reach the snake head once, though I don't know if they succeeded or not, can't remember.

Yes, there's a vendor in the Allanak templar quarter that sells those fruits/potions to templars. I think there's also one that grants invis but it's been years.
