What about skills? I'm guessing those don't transfer? You keep your skills and don't gain anything new. Picture it as a brain swap... all the mental stuff stays with you. Unless they changed something. You may wanna double-check with Anaiah.

I always found playing a Nilazi rather daunting. They've got incredibly good spells for running plots, which makes it one of my favourite guild spell wise. But the void, that's what troubles me. In my opinion, you've got no real choice, but to drift further and further away from mundane motivations when you're playing a Nilazi. You can play a krathi who likes pretty baubles and pretty women, just a reguler joe schmoe who's got a strange relation with fire. But once a Nilazi wears a female meat suit and realizes the folly of anything on the plane of life, they become alien minded more and more. Kind of leaves them with a very narrow area to rp in.

You've no idea. You're in for a treat, trust me. .........stands up from the bar at the Gaj. n, w,w,w,w,w,w,w,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n I play this game almost solely to fuck around and amuse myself these days, so this seems like a great guild for me. I shall definitely try one out next chance I get. As far as RP, I've always had a hard time picturing nilazi's personality, goals, etc. I assume they would have the personality of Dexter, AT BEST. Don't really understand all these emotions people are having, but may try to pretend so that they can fit in. But what motivates a Nilazi? If they're so detached as to have no earthly motivations, then what is left? What makes a Nilazi decide to do that voodoo that he do, and not simply hide in a dark corner fucking around with his element?

I like to think of elementalists as at least slightly driven to be better whatevers. Like a Krathi should want more things on fire. Vivs should want to bring water into the world. Drovs more darkness. Etc etc. Likewise Nilazi should want to shit all over everyone drive those things back with the power of the void. That's my personal opinion. Any magicker I'd play would have an element-motive at some volume or another. If you play a Nilazi you'll automatically be hated. May as well turn the element motive to 11 and really earn that hate.

If they're so detached as to have no earthly motivations, then what is left? What makes a Nilazi decide to do that voodoo that he do, and not simply hide in a dark corner fucking around with his element? The same thing that would motivate a whiran I imagine, or a fully branched (any magicker guild really). The things they held dear before they got that powerful, the things that have become more important as they got that powerful, or whatever have you. In my experience both as a player and as an observer of others play, it seems that really, the element may color the approach, and may sometimes obliterate certain wants/needs, but once it's wiped out all motivation, well, that's the reason they store people who are pseudo-elementals, it's too alien for play really. I found a lot of ennui as a very powerful whiran because nothing was really a challenge after a point, you know? Want to go somewhere exotic, takes ten seconds. Want to make money, salt invis or take your scav subguild and go forage for valuable stones in far-flung places, want to put the fear of god in someone, hands of wind them a couple times and send them a messenger with a threatening message. Really it gets to a point like that with every guild nearly, it's just the approach taken that colors how you solve the problem in a minute or two. As for a fully branched nilazi, I've seen some people do frightening things with theirs, and thought it was amazing (Akoto), and seen other people do extremely exploitative things that make no IC sense and were so unbelievable that I truly wanted to animate a drovian npc for their clan to catch them ultimately (actually a former staffer), but they definitely have their potential for enjoyable and interesting roleplay. And if you make the right friends, you can be nigh on untouchable.

Idk what any of that means.. But currently there's a mul ranger / nilazi in Red Storm. He's been killed by PCs several times and... he's still alive! Like it's fuckin' 2008 or something...

I'm guessing there are no logs or any details really that prove, or at least make it credible that this particular Mul has been actually killed by someone?
Also, consider this. You are seriously screwing the guy who's playing this Mul right "now".

I don't have this verified 100%, but it's all based from stuff I've seen / heard in character over the last year or so, and not the product of some OOC gossip mill (until now, I guess). I really can't go too far into detail because it gets revealing as to who I have played, but if you PM me I might clarify a bit more in private. At any rate, I've heard a firsthand account from a PC whose claimed to have been involved in Hawks death twice, and has been seen doing emotes/otherworldly voices reminiscent of Nilazi / undead mischief. So, if I was a betting man I'd say some imm gave him Nilazi powurz or some such. It all sounds pretty familiar, no? As far as being a shitty thing to do, normally I wouldn't try to oust active players, but frankly there's too much of a history of grief from this players. They get power and cause problems, so someone wises up and nukes them.... and then they come back. I personally choose not to play with or near these characters so long as I can avoid it. Best case, you kill them and they choose to not hold a grudge against you when they're rezzed next week. Worst case you nuke them and you get some immortal ass clown crawling up your ass and taking 6 karma away from you because you misspelled one of your emotes. If they can have their little projects, then we can at least be informed so that we can, to the best of our abilities, avoid these characters and just let them play THEIR mud in a little sandbox, since clearly they don't want to stoop to playing it with the conditions we ourselves are forced to endure. Don't wanna ruin anybodies tea party. :hops off his soap box, leaving said platform to be scowled at with suspicion and fear by a group of aba clad, shit-stinking mercenaries. Yeah, not to go into too much detail but the whiran that's got the logs posted? She was tasked with trying to find out info on them at one point, and wound up being killed by an animated gypsy while invisible - while two visible pcs who were visibly and actively doing magick there both survived. It pissed me off pretty hard, and every whiran I special apped after it was denied with, I kid you not, simply 'we'd rather not see you play that guild'.
