I'm off tomorrow preparing for my flight, so if Del has some free time we'll try to Skype, or I'll be available to share some stories on mumble.

It's still fresh in my mind (Rissa), so I can share some good stories about Gowan and Sky.

Nah open forum/chat room RP is like 90% Sexual deviance. Impossible situations that are played out either A.) Wouldn't work cause biology or B.) it would be illegal to do IRL.

I understand people are people, and its better for them to act out such 'feelings' in a space that is fantasy with minimal impact to others. It's just odd there is such a sheer number of them. I guess I shouldn't be surprised exactly, but always kind of curious what mix of nature/nuture creates a shemale half-giant with a rape fantasy dwarf fetish.

In fact arm is rather Tame then some of shit I've seen fly in a Yahoo chatroom.

Maybe I just lack imagination.

I first saw "live" tits from a 40-45 something Arm player who I started talking with when web cams were crazy slow and almost non-existent (2400 bauds modem represent, yo!). I vaguely remember her being in the real estate business and she's showing me her new houses then suddenly.. Live tits and other feminine bits.

I was 14 at the time. So yeah, both Arm and the internet is full of deviants. Let's be frank here, we're all a little fucked up one way or another. I honestly have never met/talked with another Arm player who I could honestly say that guy/girl is straight up mentally stable. Y'all fucking insane, yo.

At the end of the day you have a few different types of players. I think the majority of your players are your typical hack n slash warriors. They want to kill shit and get awesome loot. That is honestly the most base form of roleplaying/gaming which harkens back to D&D.

RPIs blend in some story into that and it makes for a really fun time killing people/monsters and taking their shit. I fell into this category and still do.

I think you then have a few other categories best left for another thread probably. IE: Mudsexxers, Magick-only players, Merchant-tavern-sitters, I mean the list goes on.

I always felt compelled to play merchants because I can make cool shit for people.  I had a Kuraci mul merchant who designed so much cool stuff for the Fist a few years ago and was always stoked whenever another month rolled around and I could show them the neat stuff I had made for them. 

The he char that I stored when signing up for these forums was a warrior and was going to be my first attempt in a long time to go full warrior in a combat clan, but alas.

I dont believe in-depth roleplaying is attractive to most healthy people. The biggest draw of it is escapism; why would a sane person want to escape their life? For others theres the appeal of being able to do things you can't do in real life, almost all of which involves some form of crime. Exploring strange lands and dealing with the risk of being torn apart by horrific monsters. experiencing a claustrophobc world where an insane computer AI you can't live without gives you conflicting orders you'll be killed for obeying or disobeying. Vigilante justice or pursing an ascenton to godhood. Or maybe just eating people because you hate them.

These are not the urges normal people feel the need to indulge in.
