How would one visit the Plane of Vivadu? Is there a portal left behind when you cast Gate or something? What happens when you cast gate inside the Plane? Can you use the Plane to across the world (entering through one point, exiting another)? What sort of entities live in the Planes? Are they hostile?

Ask this again somewhere in the spoilers forum (in the secrets thread, or its own thread) and I will be happy to answer. This isn't the appropriate place for that though (imho), so I'm going to bow out having said that.

I'm just curious, the spell ~mirage~
Personally I think it replenishes the movement points of others in the same room room as you (but not yourself)
Call me crazy, but I can't believe this is just a total FLUFF spell?
Any input here?

Any input here? Krathi's have a fluff spell that just make some text echo to the screen. Drovians have one too, "Shadowplay" no effect other than an echo, and it doesn't even branch to anything. I think it is just a fluff spell, but I can't confirm.

Any input here? every mage has one afaik. at different power levels they give different echoes. honestly I really liked them and thought they were cool. it was a neat, coded way to have a mage demonstrate their 'power' and gave a bit more lore and depth to the elements.

They're similar the old DIKU 'pose' command, which gave more impressive room echos the higher the level of the mage using them, but had no other effect.
The problem with 'mirage' and the like is that the mage doesn't know which echo he or she will get at a given power level. You might want a giant screaming face to surge forward out of the darkness and instead have a quirri appear and run away. If the mage could know in advance or control which effect would appear, it would be a lot more useful in adding atmosphere, mystery and cause for other PCs to fear them.

Some/all of the "fluff" spells also have an effect at mon level, usually/always an effect that is replicated by one of their other spells. Mon Shadowplay makes the room dark afterward, Mon Phantasm fears. I think the Mon Whiran cantrip spell makes them invisible as well.

I can't recall if the Nilazi phantasm spell is pure fluff or if it can hit people with magical fear.

I can't confirm, it's only something I've heard. I can confirm mon shadowplay and mon whatever_whiran_spell do something.

I'm just going to say that a Vivaduan Slipknife would be positively monstrous after a bit of training/branching. I may/may not have played with one in the past.

Would the poison on the arrows and/or knives is still be magickal incurable poison? With the same potency/duration? Does the chance to poison from arrow/knife stay the same?
I mean cast' mon poison' from the shadows seems like more of a sure thing with exception to the range of course. If you think about it though you could really be anything, perhaps another mage with sub-guild hunter or outdoorsman and have a friendly vivudian poison your shit for you.

It's more that you'd be able to sneak around and be unseen. But rather than be a less combat-effective type of magicker like a whiran (who can certainly ruin your day, but less so indoors with no regen, and no ability to run) you have things like intoxicate and poison, so the guy can't Way, is going to surely die, and can barely move around he's so wasted, in a place he thought he was safe.. leaving the body with no obvious signs as to what happened.

Iluth spells "do" have a non-fluff use, at least some of them. But finding those things out is not dangerous, or somehow impossible to do for any character of the right guild, so experiment. Edit: Figures, I havent read the entire 4th page. So some of those uses were already explained. Pah!

Also just a note, Vivaduan spells do not (to my knowledge) increase stamina regen. There's a whole other magicker guild wrapped around that idea.

I can agree with that but I think it would be of far greater use if that one fluff spell didn't get you "wanted" because you're not really doing anything to anyone right?
