How about a fletchery list Outside of the ones you can make with bone, feathers, flint or obsidian. You'd pretty much have to be a Salarr merchant to make the rest and even then, you'd probably have to work up to making arrows. Since no other Salarri knows how to make them, you just be sitting there experimenting with shit. You'd probably kill yourself by then, out of the sheer boredom, tavern sitting and grinding making bone breastplates in the sweatshop. I know I would.

I played a merchant with a friend for awhile but eventually we got bored.
This is something we were working on while playing, though. I didn't go to the effort of removing recipes already posted in this thread, but I think it's worth posting.

Dunno if this thread is still alive or if people even view them as of late. I played merchant for a while and would like to share some crafting recipes I've noted down.

I am looking for some unique weapon recipes like the hunter spear, the war swords and spears, or weird obscure shit. Anyone have any they care to share? The sad thing here is you need master level crafting to do them and even then, you need to be a Salarr crafter. A lot of the best shit are clan specific items. The clans with the most love over the years have the best shit ie Tan Muark, delves etc. I'm pretty sure the longer they remain closed the more likely they'll be lost over time. The best you can hope for are some of the craftable advanced weapons if you're an indy. If you got the master weaponsmith ex. sub...you're in mastercraft hell and you'll only discover how many items are noncraftable or clan specific.

The tragedy is that not even staff keeps track of the best shit. It really does get lost in time.

"After that the best thing for a low level merchant to work on to 'tan' is getting shards of agate, flint, obsidian and chunks of quartz and doing scrapers." I just noticed this - can someone confirm or elaborate? Is this another case like... How salvaging rocks trains 'forage' and how making the same rock pieces that salvage produced through 'stonecrafting' trains 'fletchery'? (Insanely, needlessly complex associations sometimes... IMO, the whole crafting system needs a giant overhaul and public lists.)

The tragedy is that not even staff keeps track of the best shit. It really does get lost in time. One thing I don't like is when people make new non-clan specific master craft items, the kind anyone with the appropriate skill level can craft, they're tricky and try to use obscure items so other people won't start crafting them at the same time. This is understandable, I wouldn't want someone to do this to me but a year later or when the crafter is dead, the recipe will be practically impossible for someone else to discover.

Breaking rocks down into smaller rocks uses the forage skill, or the skinning skill. I've never been ENTIRELY confident which. And the "round hunks of stone" that can be made, are actually slingshot "bullets", so that uses fletchery. (I can't imagine any of this is super secret information)

I think in a couple of cases it's because the crafter wanted it to be a unique item, to be made only once, but for whatever reason the staff insisted that it had to be craftable. So the crafter made it in a way that it'd be stupidly hard to puzzle out. Sadly, once one person who doesn't care about its uniqueness figures it out, it's no longer unique and the recipe gets posted somewhere or passed to everyone and their best buddy.

There's no such thing as secret information, not if we're talking about game mechanics. Nor there ever should be. In that spirit, what 'is' the 'relevant' skill that making scrapers now uses?

CraftingRecipes.ods (55.92 KB)
This was floating around back when I played. It might be outdated though. It's a libre office spreadsheet (originally excel I think).
