Why do dwarf ranger/arches seem to have different recipes to their human counterparts? And are there other racial oddities with crafting?

A pungent root + white meat (carru? I can't remember) = spicy steak you rarely see IG.
Marilla sap + travel cake = glazed travel cake.
Many combos of fruit + flour make pies and pastries.
2 cunyati nuts + sap + handful of flour = honey nut sweet cakes.
More combo armorcrafting recipes!

Of course I'm a newbie, and I'm going to ask it anyway. How does one go about discovering new recipe? For example, I'm getting good enough at cooking that I'm now able to cook some meats, slice up the breads and fruits. My goal being to make some kind of Dagwood gi-normous sandwich. Do I really just have to keep trying various combinations of three and see if they work together? Can a recipe require more than three items?

Can be any number really. Yep, guesswork or this thread or someone shows you in game or it's your recipe.

A recipe can have up to five ingredients. Three ways to find them out. Guesswork. Being taught by another PC. Finding a finished product and 'analyzing' it.

a pair of antennae saclike organ muscular tube stuffed saclike organ or something I think there's a recipe like that called "grebber's surprise", though I feel like the antennae is involved with two other weird ingredients.

Thank you ARMqwerty. I think I recall that analyze is perma stuck at Novice? Can I get a confirmation? Yeah you can't raise it, but you don't need to because it's based off of the craft used to make the object. If that makes sense. So if you want know how to make that cool plate, your armor crafting skill has to be high enough (if it's craftable) to even analyze it.

That makes sense to me. I still think we should have an idea of what goes into common stuff. I mean lets look at a sears and roebucks hunting knife. Usually a steel blade, with a steel or brass guard, bone or horn handle with a brass or steel pommel. See, I can analyze I may not be able to make one, probably not even assemble one, but I'd have an idea of the parts needed if I ran across raw materials.

You can still do all that.
A antler halfspear clearly needs an antler. And you can figure out that spears require long wooden poles and halfspears require short wooden poles. So you can still do stuff like that. You wont be 100% correct and 'some' crafts are weird. But a good 65% is relatively intuitive. That 65% is generally mass produced by everyone, so they're not too easy to sell though.
