I'm glad that the statue was well liked. <3 I know Timotheo was starting a tradition of leaving her offerings, and thought it was amazing how creative that player was and how lofty his goals were. He might very well have invented a lot of "history". He had my character make the large tapestry in the estate depicting a board game and a burning city, as well, saying that it was an ancestor of his. I do miss the shennenegis he would stir up.
You mention Lady Ro, and I keep thinking of the Lady Ro that my character (Maristen) used to hang with. It felt like we were the noble/aide/merchant brat pack with all the shit we got into. Just for that memory, thanks! I feel you so HARD on that tent thing and wanting to make things to help other players. I LOVE the idea of giving nobles something to manage and work toward in a concrete way, that was a goo didea. I was trying to do the same with the, at the time, unused and empty bar in the magic quarter, because I just wanted more magick type folks to hang with while ALSO helping people new to karma have a good start.
The lack of foresight is staggering when it comes to these things, and all the stories I've heard. But yeah. Burn that tavern down, crash that wagon, destroy that monument. Ugh.
EDIT - And to not spam the thread, after reading Ender's post. DAMN. That sucks, dude. Sorry they did all that.
oh my gosh hey how are you!! (i played Ellandris Borsail and I loved Maristen)

Heh, I'm doing well, thanks.
You literally babied and taught my newb butt until I could figure out the noble aspect of the game. Politics and schmoozing was SO lost on me, until I started closely watching what your character did. Like, did I not bow at first? And you taught me ICly how to look for rings and other signs of rank? LOL, you are the best. Dang. This lady here is the one that wrote the helpful guides for newb Storytellers, too. Just the best mentor ever.
I'm doing just fine, how are you? Hope you have a game now that makes you happy.
And to Val... EEEEEE! Your character was so danged funny. I loved chilling with her and Lucith, smoking in the estates. You mentioned their goodbye scene and I almost teared up. That was rough. He just... tossed himself into the lava. Like... aaaagh...! The emotions. The player wrote a log of it all, but they didn't post it, I think.
When I think of everything we all got through, and how our characters just smoked and drank ourselves into oblivion while sprawled in a pile of silk, or hung out in each other's heads. Those are my fondest memories of the game. I miss Brand and Nell, too. Man thinking of her made me think of Lucith's shellshocked reaction when she got stabbed in front of us. That whole time was crazy. Yes, Kit was part of it all too. Then Alveron, and Valerith (was that his name?) came along and whew... so many good characters. Or drinking buddies.
I don't even think they let on what happened during that Senate stuff. How we all basically got babysitting duty for a group of black robes and had to pick sides to influence how the votes went. Most I ever hear about it all was the lightshow around that time when two of them fought in the sky. Meanwhile we were all trying not to die or get married off... to the grossest NPCs possible. Did ANYONE get a nice spouse out of that? Huh, now I think of it, it was only Kit and Ru that got hitched. They didn't offer that to Lucith that I heard.. Bleh.
Have there been any male characters (aside from mine that I am aware of) that have been offered marriage? Sorry for the ramble, got excited to chat about the period of time.

Crew Leader Masa to become Agent Masa Salarr is the only one that I can think of.

They were good times. Percy was fantastic too, Alveron was a good egg and such a fun Templar to play around, Kitt was a great nemesis. Ru's aide Pheobe was fun, even though Ru could be so terrible to her just because Ru was so intensely selfish. Doing those random card games in the tavern with whatever commoners were around brought me joy. All of us played almost constantly (so unhealthy in retrospect). It was characters and the people around them like that that made the game so enjoyable to play. Often, as others have noted, despite staff rather than because of. I ended up having a male MMH character and a different Lady get hitched under much more favorable circumstances, but both plots were initiated by me. Idk if staff stopped pushing marriage stuff or what. My time in the end was longer and longer breaks and shorter and shorter stints playing, until all this nonsense happened and made me take a hard look at how I was spending my time and emotional energy. Ah well. Fond memories!
