Character Histories
Kali Stel: Is a 13 year old girl in Allanak, she has huge potential to earn the Family the status of Merchant House by being very intelligent and profit-minded, she is currently employed with the Atrium in Allanak with her close sibling Redat, a half-brother who raised her and her full-blooded brother Haras Stel. She has been missing for some time and is believed dead.
Haras Stel: Is a 15 year old teenager in Red Storm. He is to be brought to Allanak and into Redat’s care to train and become a guard for the Family. Currently Missing in Red Storm, possibly kidnapped.
Lacek Stel: Is a 25 year old man who is employed with Kadius, he is the only Cousin known to the immediate Stel family. His white hair and features distinguish him in the family as a Black Sheep of sorts, and he is sometimes outcast by others. Though some like Kali Stel have started to warm to him and see his potential to help the family.
He has recently gone missing and is presumed dead.
Redat Stel: Is a 30 year old man who lives in Allanak, he takes care of Kali Stel and is the Elder of the Family at this point, he is employed as a guard for Master Enlil Terash, Proprieter of the Atrium. His motives for the family are unknown but he is the most intelligent of the Stel’s by far and most look to him as a leader.
Sedith Stel: Is a 26 year old crafter. He is a close member of the family being a full-blooded brother to Redat, and being bore by the Whore, and next in line as heir to the name of the Stel’s, however he is very far from all the family members, bearing little to no emotion, he rarely warms to any of the Stel’s and prefers to go about his own business as a new Kuraci, some of us feel threatened by his presence, however he has moved to Red Storm, we accept him as an asset to the family so long as he helps with our plot to become a House.
Rik and Mik Stel: Twins who dabbled in the shadier places of Red Storm whilst growing up, both had an appetite for whores, drinking, spicing, and other non-reputable things. Rik Stel was slain within the Byn compound, Mik Stel disappeared and is also believed dead.
Fierkkas Stel: A born nomad, he traveled the wastes for years until he was told by his mother late in his life that he had family in Red Storm and Allanak, and that his blood was Stelish, knowing this he visited the family briefly at the age of 16 and had fleeting contact with Redat, Gregor, Kali, and Haras. He has returned to the city-state of Allanak hearing from the wastes that they are doing well for themselves, his mother now dead, has spurred him into a deeper relationship with the Stel’s and he hopes his blade can be of service to them. Fierkkas Stel was slain in the Arena of Allanak.
Onasis Stel: Is now 21 years old. His reputation for being quiet and reclusive is known to a few of the Stel’s already. Originally from the shadier parts of Red Storm, the rumors creeping into the village that a concentration of Stel’s had begun organizing in Allanak reached him not too long ago. At the age of 20 it was revelaed that he was a Stel by his mother, an independent spicehunter who is now dead, and he has decided to meet the family that has been kept from him for so long. To settle his normally violent lifestyle into something more conventional is now a goal in his murderous , but tamed mind.

House Stel Introduction
House Stel, a phrase that was lost to the times of old, was once Steinal’s most powerful Nobility House that at one moment in time controlled nearly fifty percent of the Templarate. At it’s peak, House Stel retained the highest amount of wealth, supersiding the other Nobility in prostiege, strength and direct power over many political engagements. House Stel bore the brunt of the war against Allanak, bearing only the finest warriors bred for battle. They turned combat into a finely tuned machine and won several of the victories against Allanak including the pivotal defeat which enraged the Sorcerer-King Tektolnes. The House was lost to antiquity when in the year 1055, during the Fourteenth Age, the city was buried by Tektolnes’ summoned sandstorm. From there our current story of how the name lived on begins with the last Stel, a scared little boy who was visiting Red Storm Village during Steinal’s destruction, Gregor Stel.
This story begins with one adolescent noble boy, Gregor Stel and his guardian Redat, (Steinali translation – the Red Blade), Redat was old enough to realize what had truly happened in 1055 to the great city that he lived his entire life in. The boy did not understand the words being told to him, “We must hide now, Gregor. You must never tell anyone who you are, ever. Listen to me now, this is for the glory of Steinal, for Valusurus, for your entire lineage.”
The boy listened to his guardian and later understood when he had grown older. He grew old and Redat died, but remained in Gregor’s memory. Two sons were born from Gregor’s seed; Gregor Stel and Redat Stel. The bearer was a local farmgirl simply named Rose. The first of the ten generations of these names to be passed on, the Stel blood diluted by the various women to be taken in the future of this struggling family name. The knowledge of the nobility died with Gregor the 2nd who perished in the wastes, failing to tell his brother Redat in time. The bloodline had been lost to the sands and many generations prior forgotten just as easily. All that remains at the present are fragments in each mind of the Stel’s of something that once was and stories told from generation to generation. The Secret coming up many times.

NOTABLE CONCEPTS
The Secret: In 1121 Gregor the 2nd died and The Secret is what was kept from his brother Redat, who knew there was a Secret between him and his father, it was passed down from generation to generation in stories.
The Whore: Refers to the main bloodline today in Red Storm. The Whore was simply several women that Jarak bedded with on many occasion and most Stel's in Red Storm are descended from them.
Redat the Red Blade: Is a translation error lost to time, Redat a Steinali word meaning Red Blade, not ever being the guard's actual name. He was in fact a psychic warrior working for Valasurus, a personal guard to Gregor Stel the 1st only in name, he was a spy for the Sorcerer-King for the King's belief that the Stel's would try to overthrow him and take over the city, this is not known to anyone and never will be, the name itself meaning the Red Blade in Steinali was a psuedonym for his sword which was fabled in Steinal to be a long curving blade of red steel that cut through all armor like butter, it was lost in the destruction of Steinal, and still exists somewhere in the rubble, awaiting for the only one to bear it's name to find it.

Chronicles of the Stel's History after the Destruction of Steinal
Written by Danny Laufenburg
1055
The armies of Allanak and Steinal clash just west of the Great Salt Flats. Enraged, Tektolnes summons powerful magicks and puts down Valasurus, burying both him and the destroyed city of Steinal under the sands. Gregor Stel, the last remaning noble of Steinal and a boy of only ten years is off with his guardian, the Red Blade, whom tells him of this tragedy and raises Gregor in Red Storm, hiding his noble heritage.
1065
Gregor suffers a wound in battle while hunting outside with Red Blade. On the verge of death for several weeks, Red Blade gathers food and barters for water as he barely manages to keep Gregor alive.
1075
Gregor trains with the Red Blade for ten years, learning the arts of combat.
1092
The Red Blade, old and weakening, dies protecting Gregor in battle from raiding elves. Gregor slays the elves and vows that he will never forget Redat; his guardian, his trainer, and best friend.
1095
Gregor at the age of forty-seven fathers two sons with a farmgirl named Rose whose dark features and leanly muscled body reminds Gregor of a once known mother. He takes her as his only woman and raises his sons Gregor and Redat as hardened Stel's, training them at a young age to be strong and survive.
1100
Gregor the 2nd shows promise with a blade at only the age of five, swinging a blunted
bone sword with furious abandon in his tiny hands. His brother Redat Stel is recluse
and silent as he seems to have little emotion or passion for anything but stonecarving and
song writing.
1110
Rose dies of a poisoned dagger in a raid.
1120
Gregor the 1st at the age of seventy-two lies on his deathbed without his wife Rose, who had fallen ten years earlier. He reveals the Secret to his firstborn while Redat is off in the North studying to become a bard.
1121
Gregor the 2nd at the age of twenty-six battles for his life in the wastes and dies to the
hands of raiders, the secret of the ancient noble house now lies buried forever beneath the sands.
1130
Redat Stel, now a bard in Tuluk at the age of thirty-four still travels with the family name. He meets a beautiful woman of the Tan Muark tribe, the wars between the tribes makes it difficult for them to meet, but Redat fathers five children with her; Gregor the 3rd, Redat the 2nd, Polarosi, Rose, and Prianna.
1149
The last members of the ancient tribes are presumed dead. The fierce warfare between the tribes deprives them of sufficient numbers to survive, and the Clans vanish. Feudalism declines, accompanied by a rise in mercantilism.
Redat Stel at the age of fifty-three dies of an unknown ailment. His children live on in the Northlands and the lingering knowledge of somehow knowing that they are something special is passed onto his children at his deathbed. The story of his strong father and strong brother and that they kept The Secret from him is once again told.
1200
Gregor the 4th is born. Redat the 3rd is born.
1209
Gregor the 4th and Redat the 3rd both die in combat. The brothers were very close and fought back to back with each other until the end, they died to a traveling party of several gith.
1229
Gregor the 5th is born. Redat the 4th is born. Polarosi the 2nd is born.
1256
With little to no reason an Exodus between the generations arises during an already struggling situation, the younger men and women bearing the Stel name head south, leaving behind their grandfathers and the more stubborn elder Stels.
1309
Seventeenth Age ends. The Stel Family has settled quite successfully in Red Storm.
Gregor the 7th at the age of twenty gazes out at the churning Sea of Silt and wonders about The Secret, his mind toiling over it time and time again as he sharpens his battle-sword. Gregor the 7th, a simple mercenary knew there was something in him churning around to get out.
1315
Gregor the 7th completes a series of jobs around Allanak, earning a hefty bag of coin that he invests in spice and pays off. He earns three times as much as he made from his original jobs and retires a wealthy man. He provides for the entire Stel family and fathers ten children; Gregor, Redat, Onasis, Balagar, Anna, Waros, Kaladar, Mova, Fasa, and Rodrik. The line of Stel's is thus broken as the family swells and the name is no longer used. Gregor the 8th is the only one to continue use of the name proudly and he is the only reason it survives. His father Gregor the 7th told him of his thoughts and how he knows that there is far more to the family that any of their simple minds could ever imagine.
1320
Gregor the 7th dies in battle, he was thirty-one.
1340
At the age of twenty-five, Gregor the 8th fathers Hitas the 1st and Gregor the 9th.
1360
The Stel family is all but dissolved once more. Gregor the 9th and Hitas, brothers and
veteran mercenaries are no better then thugs. Murdering for coin and harshly demanding
goods as they raid wagons along the traderoutes, they both die at the age of twenty. Gregor the 10th lives on by only the will of his mother, a Whore that lived in Red Storm and was told the stories of the Stel family's legends by the Black Mernceary Gregor.
1375
At the age of fifteen, Gregor the 10th is taught everything he knows of the family. With the little knowledge left of what it once was in the North and what it had become in recent years, he takes up a sword and begins training as he drives to rise higher then any of his ancestors before him.

1400
At twenty-three, Gregor the 12th slays his forty year old father, Gregor the 10th, when he learns of his incest that he took part in with his grandmother, The Whore. Gregor the 12th goes into a depression and for the next five years is in a drunken stupor.
1405
Stumbling upon a relative bearing the name Stel, Gregor the 12th at the age of twenty-eight, realizes that the stories his father had told him were not all untrue. Redat Stel, a thirty year old bard from the Northlands recants tales that he was also told as a child by his parents. Over the course of the next few years the two claim to be brothers and look to pass on the family legend.

Unable to come to a middle-ground with his brother about moving to Red Storm, Gregor the 12th at the age of thirty-three, moves to Allanak and finds himself in love with an Oash girl. Stel Combat Documentation
Written by Steven Peterson
Combat Introduction
Reminding one of Tor in some senses, Stel’s family also created a rigorous training regimen for their family, also teaching to citizens of Steinel for prices extremely high for their valuable combat teachings. Well respected for these amazing talents with a weapon and out of fear for the sheer numbers of this family, Stel made several thousands in royalties from this schooling alone. With regard to the Steinel armies, Stel played a major role in their training and overview before entering their respective law enforcement.
Traditional Combat Techniques:
Tradionally the Stel family began working with the Southern influenced style of a single weapon with positioning behind said weapon to provide little to no target to their opponent. This technique was nearly sixty percent of combative styles instructed at the warfare academy as many of the Stel elders believed in the roots of their name, relying on starting at the beginning to find ones strength. This style of fighting is usually taught early on in one’s lifetime and is the usual style of combat instructed to any who pay their way into the school.
Retaining the position of second in students taught this technique that makes up about thirty percent, Stel instructors created a small nickname for the method, “Nakkie Whore.” This manner of style earned its name through several engagements that the Allanaki army was defeated and sent running for their gates. After these bloody battles, there was a young man that would create hysterical, stomach-wrenching jokes about the “Nakkie Whores” and perform in the local taverns as a bardsman. The intricacy of this technique is very extensive as it relies heavily on extremely quick footwork and endurance, maneuvers and series upon series of relentless attacks against the opponent. It was not uncommon to see an entire unit of thirty men to be running consistently around the training yards and was painfully obvious which style of combat they were learning. This style was solely trained to Stel family decedents and the occasional high-paying customer that would provide some type of benefit to the Stel Household.
Formed in the very beginning of the Allanaki occupation of Tuluk and making up the remaining ten percent was the technique involving a single shield and weapon during combat situations due to the many Northerners that were unable to get training from Allanak’s House Tor because of their heritage. Although the Stel Household did not generally trust or care much for the Tuluki citizens, Stel elders did find it rather comical to be instructing them in combat so that they can better fight back against Allanak. For this reason Tektolnes was further angered with the city of Steinel and for good cause because these teachings aided many small citizen created factions in combat knowledge and skill.

Stel Mercenary Guard
Loose affiliations? Sellswords? Cut-throats? Hired Knives? Assassins?
These are the keywords of the SMG, they are the untamed, the brutes of Zalanthas who care about nothing but their own pockets. Sure there are some decent ones within the small unit, namely the Captain, and the few that have been promoted to the rank of Sergeant or perhaps the Head Mercenary.
